In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. |

بنام خدا؛ هستی بخش مهربان |
|
|
When the sun is shrouded in darkness, |
1 |
در آن هنگام كه خورشيد تار و تاریک شود |
*
|
| And when the stars lose their light, |
2 |
و آنگاه كه ستارگان بىفروغ شوند |
|
|
And when the mountains vanish (like a mirage), |
3 |
و آنگاه که کوهها براه افتند |
|
|
And when the pregnant camels are abandoned, |
4 |
و آنگاه که شتران آبستن(با ارزش) بیصاحب و رها شوند |
|
|
And when the wild beasts are herded together, |
5 |
و آنگاه که حیوانات وحشی گرد هم آیند |
|
|
And when the oceans boil over with a swell, |
6 |
و آنگاه که دریاها جوشان و خروشان شوند |
|
|
and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds], |
7 |
و آنگاه که نفوس [با اعمالشان] جفت شوند |
|
|
And when the female infant buried alive is asked . |
8 |
و آنگاه که از دختران زنده به گور شده ، سؤال شود |
|
|
For what crime was she killed? (*) |
9 |
که به كدامين گناه كشته شدند؟ |
|
|
And when the books are laid open, |
10 |
و آنگاه که نامه [اعمال] گشوده شود |
|
|
and when the sky is torn away, |
11 |
و آنگاه که آسمان برکنده شود |
|
|
and when Hells kindled to fierce ablaze, |
12 |
و آنگاه که دوزخ برافروخته گردد |
|
|
and when Paradise is brought into view: |
13 |
و آنگاه که بهشت نمایان گردد |
|
|
Every soul shall (then) know what it has put forward . |
14 |
هر نفسی داند که چه از پیش آماده کرده است |
*
|
|
But nay! I call to witness the revolving stars, |
15 |
سوگند به آن(ستارگان) چرخ زننده |
|
|
the planets that run their course and set, |
16 |
حركت مىكنند و از ديدهها پنهان مىشوند |
|
|
and the night as it darkly falls, |
17 |
و سوگند بشب ، آنگاه که همی تاریک شود |
|
|
and the morning when it brightens: |
18 |
و بامداد آنگاه که بدمد |
|
|
Verily this is the word of an honourable Messenger, |
19 |
كه اين (قرآن) كلام فرستاده بزرگوارى است |
|
|
owner of power, and high rank with the Lord of the Throne, |
20 |
كه صاحب قدرت است و نزد صاحب عرش (خداوند) ، مقام ومکنتی دارد |
|
|
obeyed , trustworthy there . |
21 |
فرمانروایی اطاعت شده و امین است |
|
|
And your companion is not a madman. |
22 |
و دوست مصاحب شما (پیامبر) دیوانه نیست |
|
|
Without doubt he saw him [the Angel Gabriel] on the clear horizon. |
23 |
او (جبرئيل) را در افق روشن ديد |
|
|
He does not withhold a knowledge of the unseen. |
24 |
و او نسبت به آنچه از غیب دريافت داشته بخل ندارد |
|
|
And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Satan . |
25 |
و این (قرآن) گفته شيطان رانده شده نيست |
|
|
Then where are you going? |
26 |
پس به كجا مىرويد؟ |
|
|
Verily this is a reminder to all mankind- |
27 |
اين قرآن جز تذكری براى جهانيان نيست |
|
|
For those who will to go straight. |
28 |
براى هركس كه بخواهد راه مستقيم در پيش گيرد |
|
|
But you will in accordance with the will of God, Lord of the universe. |
29 |
ولی شما اراده نمىكنيد مگر اينكه خداوند -پروردگار جهانيان- اراده كند و بخواهد |
