In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. |

بنام خدا؛ هستی بخش مهربان |

|
When the sky is cleft asunder, |
1 |
آنگاه كه آسمان شكافته شود |
*
|
|
And when the stars are scattered, |
2 |
و آنگاه كه ستارگان پراكنده شوند و فرو ريزند |
|
|
And when the seas burst beyond their bounds, |
3 |
و آنگاه كه درياها کرانه های خود را بشکافند |
|
|
And when the graves are overturned –, |
4 |
و آنگاه که قبرها زیر و زبر شوند |
|
|
Every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back . (*) |
5 |
در آنزمان هر کس داند آنچه را که به پیش فرستاد ه ویا به پشت انداخته |
|
|
O you human being, what beguiled you from your bountiful Lord, - |
6 |
اى انسان! چه چيز تو را در برابر پروردگار كريمت مغرور ساخته است |
|
|
-the One who created you, formed you in accordance with what you are meant to be, and shaped your nature in just proportions. |
7 |
آنكه تو را آفريد ، سامان داد و متناسب نمود |
|
|
In whatever shape He willed He constructed you. |
8 |
و به هر شکلى كه خواست تو را ساخت |
|
|
Nay, but you deny the Judgment Day. |
9 |
نه چنین است ، بلکه شما روز جزا را تکذیب میکنید |
|
|
Indeed there are ever-watchful forces over you. |
10 |
درحالیکه نگاهبانانى بر شما گمارده شده |
|
|
They are noble recorders. |
11 |
گرامی ثبت کنندگانی |
|
|
Aware of whatever you do. (**) |
12 |
آگاه از آنچه انجام میدهید |

|
|
Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous: will indeed be in bliss, |
13 |
به يقين نيكان در نعمتى فراوانند |
|
|
whereas, the wicked will indeed be in a blazing fire – |
14 |
در حالیکه تبهكاران در دوزخند |
|
|
They will enter therein on the Day of Judgment. |
15 |
که فراگیرد آنها را در روز جزا |
|
|
And they will never be absent therein. |
16 |
و آنان هرگز از آن غايب و دور نتوانند بود |
|
|
And do you realize what the Day of Judgment is? |
17 |
تو چه مىدانى روز جزا چيست؟ |
|
|
And once again, do you realize what the Day of Judgment is? (***) |
18 |
بازهم تو چه مىدانى روز جزا چيست؟ |
|
|
a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to another human being: for on that Day [it will become manifest that] all sovereignty is God's alone. |
19 |
روزى كه کسی بدرد کسی نخورد، و همه امور در آن روز از آن خداست |
