بنام خدا؛ هستی بخش مهربان |

What are they questioning each other about? |

از چه چيز، پیاپی از يكديگر پرسش مىكنند؟ |

|
About the awesome news [of resurrection], |
2 |
از آن خبر بزرگ {رستاخیز}ز |
|
|
on which they [so utterly] disagree. (*) |
3 |
كه همی در آن اختلاف دارند |
|
|
Indeed, they shall soon come to know. |
4 |
نه ، بزودی خواهند دانست |
|
|
Then indeed, they shall soon come to know. |
5 |
بازهم نه ، بزودی خواهند دانست |
|
|
Have we not made the earth a resting-place [for you], |
6 |
آیا زمين را مهد آسایش (شما)نکرده ایم؟ |
|
|
And the mountains [its] pegs? |
7 |
و كوهها را ميخهاى ثابت؟ |
|
| And We have created you in pairs, |
8 |
وما شما را جفت آفريديم |
|
|
And We made your sleep for (rest,) |
9 |
و خوابتان را مايه آرامش نموديم |
|
|
And We made the night a cover. |
10 |
و شب را پوششى |
|
|
And the day to seek livelihood. |
11 |
و روز را هنگام معیشت |
|
|
And We made above you seven strong ones, |
12 |
و بر فراز شما هفت (آسمان) محكم بنا كردیم |
|
|
And We placed a glowing lamp, |
13 |
و پرتو افشانی تابان برافروختیم |
|
|
And We send down from the clouds pouring water, |
14 |
و از ابرها باران پی در پی فرو ریختيم |

|
|
To produce with it grains and plants. |
15 |
تا با آن دانه و گياه برويانيم |
|
|
And gardens dense with follage. (**) |
16 |
و بوستانهای انبوه |
|
|
Verily the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] is a thing appointed, |
17 |
همانا روز جداکردن[ حق و باطل]، بهنگامش سرمیرسد |
|
|
the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; |
18 |
روزى كه در شیپور دميده شود و شما گروه گروه بیایيد |
|
|
And the sky will be opened and becomes as gates, |
19 |
و آسمان گشوده شود و چون دروازه هایی گردد |
|
|
And the mountains are set in motion and become as a mirage. |
20 |
و کوهها براه افتند و چون سرابی شوند |
|
|
[On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] – |
21 |
همانا دوزخ [در آنروز] منتظر ومترصد [گناهکاران] است |
|
|
a goal for transgressors , |
22 |
و سر انجامی براى یاغیان سرکش |
|
|
Staying therein for a long time. |
23 |
که در آن سالیانی دراز درنگ کنند |
|
|
Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink – |
24 |
در آنجا نه خنكیى مىچشند و نه نوشيدنیى [تشنگی شکن]ن |
|
|
only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: |
25 |
فقط نومیدیی سوزنده و تاریکیی چون یخ سرد |
|
|
A fitting recompense . |
26 |
کیفری سازگار و درخور کردارشان |
|
|
Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, |
27 |
همانا آنها هيچ اميد و انتظاری به حسابرسی نداشتند |
|
|
And utterly rejected our signs. |
28 |
و آيات ما را همی تكذيب كردند |

|
|
And We recorded everything in a Book. |
29 |
در حالیکه ما همه چيز را در کتابی شمارش و ثبت كرده ایم |
|
|
So suffer the consequences; We shall not increase you in anything but suffering. |
30 |
پس بچشيد كه چيزى جز رنج وعذاب برای شما نیست |
|
|
[But,] verily for the God-conscious there is supreme fulfilment in store: |
31 |
همانا برای پرهيزگاران و پارسایان پيروزی و کامیابی است |
|
|
Fenced gardens and grapes, |
32 |
باغهايى سرسبز، و انواع انگورها |
|
|
and splendid companions well matched, (*) |
33 |
و مصاحبانی باشکوه و همجور |
|
|
and a cup [of happiness] overflowing. |
34 |
و جامهايى لبريز |
|
|
They shall not hear therein any nonsense or lies. |
35 |
در آنجا نه سخن لغو و بيهودهاى شنوند و نه دروغى |
|
|
A reward from your Lord, a gift in accordance with [His Own] reckoning . |
36 |
پاداشی است از سوى پروردگارت ، بخششی است ازروی حساب |
|
|
Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them. The Most Gracious.
None shall have power to argue with Him. |
37 |
پروردگار آسمانها و زمين و آنچه در ميان آن ها است، پروردگار هستی بخش ، (در آن روز) هيچ كس حق ندارد بى اجازه او سخنى بگويد |

|
The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, none shall speak except any who is permitted by Most Gracious, who will say [only] what is right. |
38 |
روزى كه روح [ آدمیان ] و فرشتگان درحالیکه بصف درآمده اند قیام کنند ، جز به اذن خداوند رحمان، سخن نگويند و [آنگاه كه مىگويند] درست مىگويند |
|
|
That will be the Day of Ultimate Truth: whoever wills, let him take the path that leads towards his Lord. |
39 |
آنروز روز سراسرحق است ، پس هرکس بخواهد راهی بسوی پروردگارش پیش گیرد |

|
|
We have sufficiently warned you about an imminent retribution. That is the day when everyone will see what his hands have sent forth, and the disbeliever will say, 'Oh, I wish I were dust.' |

همانا ما شما را از عذاب نزديكى بيم داديم ! روزیکه بشر همی نگرد آنچه را با دستهاى خود پیش فرستاده ، و كافر گويد: اى كاش خاك بودم |
