In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. |

بنام خدا؛ هستی بخش مهربان |
|
|
When the sky is split asunder. |
1 |
در آن هنگام كه آسمان شكافته شود |
*
|
|
And obeys its Lord and it must. |
2 |
و تسليم فرمان پروردگارش شود ، محققا |
|
|
And when the earth is leveled, |
3 |
و در آن هنگام كه زمين هموار شود |
|
|
And throws out what is inside it and becomes utterly void. |
4 |
و آنچه در درون دارد بيرون افكنده ویکسره تهی شود |
|
|
And obeys its Lord and it must. |
5 |
و تسليم فرمان پروردگارش شود ، محققا |
|
|
O you human being, surely you strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. |
6 |
هان اى انسان! تو با تلاش و رنج بسوى پروردگارت مىروى ، پس او را ملاقات خواهى كرد |
|
|
Then he who is given his Record in his right hand,- |
7 |
پس کسیکه کتاب او بدست راستش داده شود |
|
|
-he will soon receive an easy reckoning. |
8 |
زود رسیدگی شود رسیدگی آسانی |
|
|
And he will return to his people (those who, like him, were righteous in life). |
9 |
و بازگردد بسوی اهلش شادمان |
|
|
But he who is given his Record behind his back,- |
10 |
اما کسیکه نامه اش از پشت سرش داده شود |
|
|
-he will soon pray for utter destruction: |
11 |
پس بزودی بخواند و درخواست کند نابودی را |
|
|
but he will enter the blazing flame. |
12 |
ولی در آتشی فراگیر درآید |

|
Indeed he used to be happy with his own kind (people of the same sinful inclinations). |
13 |
همانا وی در میان اهلش شادمان زیست |
|
|
for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. |
14 |
او هرآینه می پنداشت که هیچگاه {بسوی خدا) بازنمیگردد |
|
|
Yes indeed, His Lord was always watching over him. |
15 |
آری پروردگارش به او بس بینا بود |
|
|
Therefore, I swear by the dusk,- |
16 |
پس نه ! سوگند به شفق |
|
|
-and the night as it covers,- |
17 |
و شب و آنچه را فراگیرد |
|
|
-and the Moon in her fullness,- (*) |
18 |
و ماه آنگاه که کامل شود |
|
|
That you shall journey on from stage to stage. |
19 |
هرآینه شما هم فراآیید ازطبقه ای به طبقه ای |
|
|
But what is the matter with them that they do not believe [in a life to come]? |
20 |
پس چه میشود آنها را که {به رستاخیز} ایمان نمیآورند ؟ |
|
|
And when the Quran is recited for them, they do not fall prostrate. |
21 |
و چون بر آنان قرآن خوانده شود سر فرود نمیآورند؟ |
|
|
On the contrary the disbelievers are always in denial. |
22 |
بلکه کسانیکه رو بکفر رفته اند همی تکذیب میکنند |
|
|
And God knows exactly their innermost secrets. |
23 |
وخداوند کاملا میداند آنچه رادر دل پنهان میکنند |
|
|
Therefore, give the news of a painful punishment. |
24 |
پس مژده بده آنها را به عذابی دردناک |
|
|
But, those who believe and lead a righteous life, reserved for them is an unending reward. |
25 |
مگر آنها که ایمان آورده نیکوکاری میکنند که برای آنهااست پاداشی بی پایان - بی منت |
